Recently once we tried to use veeam B&R update three, we tend to encounter the following error
Veeam Backup & Replication installation cannot be updated mechanically. Please contact Veeam client support for help with the manual updates.
After some investigation, we found that it occurred due to either we are running a trial or if you have got a drawback with the license files. thus as a workaround to enforce Update Pack three that was needed due to demand of addition of Esxi half dozen.5 Vcenter, I followed the below steps …
Rename following files
VeeamLicense.dll > to > VeeamLicense.dll.old
[ on the market in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Veeam\ ]
veComLic.dll > to > veComLic.dll.old
[ on the market in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Veeam\Backup And Replication ]
Now run the Update Pack three and it’ll run swimmingly.
Once Done, execute Veeam , it should show the license is invalid, simply ignore and move forward, it should raise you to update element, just do it, when done, shut the veeam.
Now return to
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Veeam
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Veeam\Backup And Replication
You may see new VeeamLicense.dll & veComLic.dll files, simply take away them, (or rename them to. new) and rename the previous .old VeeamLicense.dll.old & veComLic.dll.old files to original names. (by removing .old from their names)
Now begin Veeam once more, & hopefully, at this point all are fine.
